Report writing in the APS environment
Particular skills are required for effective report writing in the Australian Public Service (APS). Report writing in the APS environment identifies those skills and works through the issues to consider when writing a report and producing the first draft of a report.
Programme overview
- recognising and applying the steps required from beginning to end in report writing (briefing, scoping, development and delivery)
- identifying the best methods for constructing reports
- effectively and strategically communicating with stakeholders
- delivering documents that conform with the established Commonwealth style
- managing, interpreting and communicating key messages to a range of target groups
- producing accurate, comprehensive and concise documents with clearly defined executive summaries, findings, conclusions and recommendations
