Consultancy contracts let during 2003-04 to the value of $10,000 or more

The APS Commission engages consultancy services in circumstances where it requires particular expertise that is not available internally. 

Policy

In-line with the principles of the Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines (CPGs), the Australian Public Service Commission's policy on selection and engagement of consultants is based on the principles of:

These guidelines have been included in the Commission's Chief Executive Instructions (CEIs).

The following table lists only those consultancies engaged in 2003-04 for $10,000 or more inclusive of GST.  The Commission entered consultancy contracts with an estimated 27 consultants during 2003-04 to an estimated value of $1,309,482.

A key to the symbols referenced as to the "selection process" and "reason for engagement" are set out below.
